...a new subsidiary of Daptone Records. From the heart and soul of Tom Brenneck, A.K.A. Tommy TNT, guitarist for Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings & The Budos Band, comes a sound at once mysterious and empowering. It is almost inconceivable that recordings this lush and brutally lovely in it's nakedness could come out of the smallish privacy of a musician's bedroom in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
The debut release "Make the Road by Walking" b/w "Karina", is an outing by The Menahan Street Band, a loose collaboration of Daptone family friends and musicians. This includes groups like The Dap-Kings, The Budos Band and El Michel's Affair, all of whom were happy to pop into Tom's bedroom to cut a few sides between the barbecuing and carousing with which they filled the better part of their sweaty Bushwick summer afternoons.
